Tyler Minigyro Camera Stabilizer

The Tyler Minigyro is said to support and stabilize cameras up to 40 lbs in weight. Designed to fit in any size helicopter, the Minigyro is the first Tyler mount that successfully works in cars/trucks, boats, and airplanes.  Handheld, zero installation time is required. Some features include: variable position handles, camera quick release mounting plate, adjustable tilt head for shooting up or down and a specially developed shock tube to eliminate vibration. The House of Representatives recently passed the so-called “clunker rebate” bill that provides robust monetary incentives to folks who upgrade from a gas guzzler to a more energy efficient vehicle. There are conditions of course (it’s a government program after all) and as of this writing it hasn’t passed through the Senate, but if it’s signed into law, some lucky car buyers may get as much as $4500 back. I think it’s a great idea, despite the fact that it rewards those who sinned against the environment in the past by driving socially irresponsible vehicles.

Nikon 10-24mm DX-Format NIKKOR Lens

Nikon Inc. has announced the next addition to the NIKKOR lineup with the new AF-S DX-NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED lens. Compact and lightweight, the new 2.4x zoom DX-NIKKOR lens offers a focal length of 10 to 24mm, creating a picture angle ranging from 109-degrees to 61-degrees (FX-format equivalent of 15-36mm).

The AF-S DX-NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED lens offers an array of versatile Nikon technologies, including Nikon’s compact Silent Wave Motor (SWM) technology for quiet, fast and accurate autofocus performance.  An advanced optical formula, featuring two extra-low dispersion (ED) glass and three aspherical lens elements renders stunning images while minimizing distortion, a common problem with ultra wide-angle lenses.

Fully compatible with Nikon’s complete line of DX-format digital SLR cameras – including the D300, D90, D60, D40 and the newly announced D5000 – the AF-S DX-NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED lens enables photographers to broaden their view in new and interesting ways.  FX-format shooters can also benefit from the AF-S DX-NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED, as Nikon’s FX-format cameras – the D3X, D3, and D700 – will automatically apply the DX-Crop Mode when shooting.

Converge: to gradually change so as to become similar or develop something in common, is the usual meaning of what convergence is as it has been the topic of much contemporary writing about the media. But that coming together between computers and television, for instance, has been spotty, incomplete and often contentious from a business and government perspective.
