Learn How to Photograph Birds with Renowned Photographer Arthur Morris in These Canon Videos

The Canon Digital Learning Center is now offering free tutorial videos hosted by world-renowned bird photographer Arthur Morris. Morris demonstrates which techniques, gear and settings he uses to create artistic photos of birds and other wildlife.

Using cameras including the Canon EOS-1D X, Canon EOS 5D Mark III—and Canon EOS 7D Mark II—Morris explores Bosque del Apache, New Mexico photographing various species of birds, using an assortment of telephoto lenses (and tele-extenders).

He demonstrates a variety of helpful tips, such as auto focus techniques, creatively using slow shutter speeds against natural light, which camera gear works best depending on the shooting situation, tools a shooter can use to help determine proper exposure and more.

Birds As Art, Destination Workshop

Canon Live Learning will also hold a EOS Destination Workshop with Morris. Explore the coastline and capture the unique wildlife during this hands-on workshop—scheduled to take place March 20 to 22 in Morro Bay, California.

Attendees will shoot in the field with Morris and Canon Technical Representatives to capture photos of shore birds such as the long-billed curlew, marbled godwits and willets. The workshop will teach students some of Arthur’s award-winning techniques, insights, and essential aspects of bird photography. Included in the workshop will be classroom instruction, field demonstrations and group critiques as well as Canon gear to loan.

To ensure individualized support from Arthur and Canon Technical representatives, space for the workshop is limited. The fee for the three-day workshop is $1,050.00.

This workshop is for intermediate and advanced photographers.
