Kodak Alaris recently announced the winners of the annual KODAK Gallery Elite Award, which honors photographers who are members of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) that have used KODAK PROFESSIONAL Photographic Paper to perfect their art. This is the the 29th anniversary of the award, a culmination of annual state and district awards held throughout the US in conjunction with the PPA print competitions. Kodak Alaris will showcase the four winning images in its booth (#726) at Imaging USA (I-USA)—the annual PPA conference and trade show, Feb. 1-3, 2015.

RØDE Microphones just unveiled a slew of new imaging products at an exclusive event in San Diego, California. As its centerpiece, RØDE launched the RØDELink Digital Wireless System—a fully-digital wireless audio system that utilizes a next-generation 2.4GHz, 128-bit encrypted digital transmission sent on two channels simultaneously, providing a high-resolution 24-bit/44.1k digital audio signal at a range of over 100 yards.

Adorama expanded the Flashpoint lighting line with the launch of Zoom Li-on, a collection of on/off camera flash products with internal lithium ion batteries—providing all of the benefits of an external battery pack. As part of Nikon’s “I Am Generation Image” campaign, Nikon sent complete pro quality DSLR camera kits to various people, asking them to document their lifestyle and the things they are most passionate about. The participants included Becky Chicoine and Sam Reece (a comedy due called Girls with Brown Hair), Darren Jefferies (urban cyclist), Rikki Mendias (advocate for the homeless), The Berzins (tiny house homesteaders), Mary Mattern (vegan chef) and Kordale and Kaleb (Dads).

The new pocket-sized Mecablitz 26 AF-1 is designed for use with compact point-and-shoot cameras and mirrorless interchangeable lens camera systems (with built-in hot shoes), providing more power than integrated camera flashes.
