It almost goes without saying: one of the most critical things in landscape photography is image sharpness. In fact, go on any web gallery or Internet forum where landscape photographers share their images and you’ll see endless debates about whether an image is sharp enough.

After getting to shoot with the 64MP Leica S3, we paid a visit to the Phase One booth at the photokina show in Germany this week where we got a chance to try out the 150MP XF IQ4 medium format camera system. Notice a pattern here?

Leica, Panasonic and Sigma announced today at the photokina show in Germany that they are forming the “L-Mount Alliance” to try to create a new lens mount standard for full frame mirrorless cameras.

Fujifilm is trying to prove that big cameras can come in small packages. At the photokina show in Cologne, Germany today, Fujifilm announced the GFX 50R, a 51.4MP medium format digital camera in a relatively compact rangefinder-style mirrorless camera body.
