It happens to all of us as photographers. We suddenly stop feeling inspired and even are, dare we say, a bit bored with shooting photos.

It almost goes without saying: one of the most critical things in landscape photography is image sharpness. In fact, go on any web gallery or Internet forum where landscape photographers share their images and you’ll see endless debates about whether an image is sharp enough.

Travel photographer Pierre T. Lambert recently broke his Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 GM lens and rather than take it to an authorized repair shop, he decided to open it up and see what was broken inside the $2,300 lens. Smart move? Probably not but, luckily for us, he shot a video of the lens teardown, which we have embedded below.

After getting to shoot with the 64MP Leica S3, we paid a visit to the Phase One booth at the photokina show in Germany this week where we got a chance to try out the 150MP XF IQ4 medium format camera system. Notice a pattern here?

Photokina in Cologne, Germany this week has been (largely) about high-end cameras and there’s not much higher-end than what Leica unveiled at the show: the S3 camera. We got some hands-one time with this 64MP medium format monster at photokina and have to say that if there’s one camera we dream about owning someday, this would be it!

Fujifilm is trying to prove that big cameras can come in small packages. At the photokina show in Cologne, Germany today, Fujifilm announced the GFX 50R, a 51.4MP medium format digital camera in a relatively compact rangefinder-style mirrorless camera body. The GFX 50R is the followup to Fuji’s GFX 50S, https://www.shutterbug.com/content/hands-impressions-new-fujifilm-gfx-medium-format-mirrorless-camera which was announced at the last photokina show in 2016.

You’ve probably noticed that lots of photographers these days are offering Lightroom preset packs. And you’ve probably wondered, how do they create all these awesome Lightroom presets? Even better, how do you create one yourself?

It’s probably happened to you before. You load up the car with your best camera gear and drive to the country to photograph the autumn leaves in peak bloom. But when you get there expecting to capture fiery red and burnt sienna orange on the trees, you discover that most of the best leaves have already fallen to the ground.
