Interfit has announced the new Super Cool-lite 9, adding to the versatile Cool-lite
range. The new Super Cool-lite 9 will be available as a single head or as twin
headed kits. The major benefits of the Super Cool-lite 9 are the 9 x 28 watt
energy efficient and flicker free daylight balanced lamps. Being cool to touch
lamps makes them ideal when photographing children or for food photography.
Giving the equivalent 1000 watts of tungsten lamps, each head has five switches
enabling combinations of lamps to be turned on or off so you can control your
lighting with ease. Each head is complete with a newly developed Octobox, perfect
for portraits, and a new lightweight high contrast reflector that ensures you
can use the SC9 in virtually any type of studio, small or large.

The International Photographic Council (IPC), a non-governmental organization
of the United Nations, has named Mr. Toshiro Shimoyama, Supreme Advisor, Olympus
Corporation, Tokyo, Japan as the recipient of its annual Hall of Fame award. The
award honors legendary contributors to the photographic industry. The presentation
is scheduled to take place at the IPC's 2005 Annual New Years Luncheon on
Tuesday, January 25, 2005, 11:30 a.m., at the United Nations in New York City.

The third sale of cameras from the collection of the late James A. Collins,
Jr. brought a total of $708,000 and record prices for a number of rare items.
"The star of the auction was an extremely rare Leica MP-2 camera with motor
and two battery packs," says Chris Everard, one of the principals of Everard
and Company. "Only 27 cameras and 15 motors are known to have been produced.
Something like this comes up once in a collector's lifetime, and it set an Internet
auction record of $86,250."
