xD Card Readers

I just ordered a new laptop that does not have any card reader built into. What is the best card reader to use for uploading xD cards (512MB and 1GB). Both of my digital cameras only use xD cards. My old laptop had a card reader for SD and CF cards and I had an adaptor that I could put the xD cards into the CompactFlash slot.

Would a small stick device such as an Olympus MAUSB-100 be a good bet or would one of the 23-1 or 14-1 USB card readers sold at Sams Club (Scan Disc Brand) do a better job.

I also know I can connect a USB cable from camera to laptop but I find that to be slower that I could do it with the adaptor and card reader in the old laptop.

We'll I had to cancel the laptop orer cause the final price quote came in over budget. Anyway bhphotovideo was able to answer my xD card question and also told me not go with used xD cards for several reasons.
