Three years ago I switched from a PC to A Mac. I have never regreted it once. When I used a PC I found I had problems at certain times getting things to work the same each time I used an application. I do not have a problem with the mac's performance. It works every time like it is supposed to. I had a concern when I loaded software for my Epson printer and scanner, but it worked great. The 17 inch monitor is sharp and clear. Many have told me it does not work as fast as a PC,but I find it works on a steady even pace. I like that. One drawback is there are a lot of sofware made for PC that are not able to work with a Mac, but I think for digital darkroom work the Mac rules. I have never had a virus and if the computer goes down I just reload the system and keep going. I hope to have another one someday. This one is behind now in speed, but as long as it works I will keep it. At the time I bought it I felt it was expensive compared to a PC with more speed and memory, but now when I compare the difference between the two the cost is comparable for equal performace. I do not know how the newer Macs perform, but I venture that they work when they are supposed to. I have the 10.2 version 800 processer with 512meg of memory. In todays standards that is not much, but it works and gets the job done. Monte Johnson.
