I was just wondering if anyone has heard any possabilities that Canon will make a 18-200mm zoom (hopefully with IS, USM and Macro)? I have a Canon 20D with 17-85mm, and I find the 85mm just isn't enough zoom. I also have a 70-200mmL, but it is heavy to carry all, so I just bring it for serious outings. Sigma has just put out an 18-200mm lens, but I'd rather buy Canon. I noticed all the major manufacture's have this lens except Canon.
I'd like to hear any comments on this.
Thanks for your input, Fiore
PS I'm familiar the disadvantages of distortions w/long zooms, but at this point I think the ease will help me get more photo's)
Will Canon be producing an 18-200 zoom ?

Camera makers are extremely secretive about products under development. Any positive or negative answer would at best be speculation. Anyone who actually knows, would be under at tight nondisclosure agreement.
If you need the lens now, buy Sigma today, but realize that Canon may announce theirs tomorrow - or never.
