It seems that digital cameras offer quite a few white balance choices, but leave out "none".
That is, a white balance which is not done at all. It seems to me this might be closer to film since film did not allow you to set its white balance: it was an intrinsic characteristic of the particular film you chose to use.
I have a Sigma DP2 and run Sigma Photo Professional to process all my raw file shots. While loading a given image, it displays what often is a beautiful rendition but I cannot re-create that white balance! It must be their un-selectable "none" option! I want to be able to select it in the white balance options list!
White balance = none?

Not etched in stone, but a concensus at many seminars and workshops -- when Shooting Camera RAW: Select RAW, Set Color Space to Adobe RGB, and Auto for White Balance. If nothing else, it is worth a try? Works for me.
