Which tri-pod?

I am going to be using this tripod for mainly super-macro plants/bugs. So I'll need to be able to get low, and it has to be sturdy(I'll be using a remote to fire the shutter). But I'm confused when looking at the endless lists of tripods on the internet.
Thinking a Giotto, or maybe something else?

What do you suggest? Budget is around/under $500.00

Check out the Really Right Stuff web site for tripod recommendations (Gitzo) and their own custom ballheads.

Of the many who do close-up in the field a lot choose Benbo tripods for their unique configuration that makes getting down low easy. However, I have not checked in some time if the Benbo is still available. If not new, they are well made, so a used one if it can be found might do you well.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!

Never even heard of Benbo? But they are still listed at b&h photo. And the price isn't that bad...it'll give some extra monies for a great ballhead.
