I'm considering one of the two following lenses:
Nikon 70-300 f4-5.6D ED
or
Tamron 75-300 f4-5.6 LD
You know the routine. Which is better, produces better images....etc.
Thanks.

Have you checked any of the reviews in the magazines or web blogs?
I've been searching, but have not found any direct comparisons. It is possible/likely that I have just not run across it.
It will be impossible to get a direct comparison because someone has to own both to do any testing. And there is no reason to own both.
Logic says that if the Nikon gets reasonable reviews, it would be a better investment.
If you're interested, I have the original Nikon 75mm - 300mm AF lens for sale for $200. It would probably be sharper than the two you are currently considering.
Yes I understand that and agree. I was thinking that perhaps a magazine review of one with comparison to other similar lenses may be available.
Thanks
