You might have guessed from my subject line that I'm a bit frustrated at the moment. A glance at the Olympus user posts will show I'm a pretty loyal customer - and I've bought a lot of equipment lately (two bodies and seven lenses plus other gear). Yet I'm not entirely pleased with warranty repair times and wonder if these are perhaps typical; maybe Olympus is even faster than others. First, my 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 lens was front focusing. I realized something was wrong and it went in when almost new. I wasn't unhappy with the month it took; after all, it's just a lens. Now my E-330 is in for a new chip as it lost its red channel (apparently this can happen). It's been two and a half weeks (since I took it to the store) and it's not even in their computer yet, so I'm told three more weeks is likely. The 330 is quite a bit better for my purposes than my 300; I'm mixing using it and my old Nikon F3 for now. I just don't like the time spent scanning negatives, and I don't like the 300 for its noise as I'm shooting a lot of medium long exposures (not that the 330 - or any digital - is completely free of this kind of noise, which can totally ruin an image).
What is your experience with warranty work? Thanks.

While not a DSLR, I had an extended warranty on my C-750 and used it when the capacitor failed on the unit. I sent it directly to their repair facility in New York, and was without it about 2 weeks. The repair job was very good, and the camera was clean and in perfect working order. About a week into the repair I called to check on it and was treated professionally, and it was delivered to my home about a week later. I have nothing bad to say about the experience...
