At the risk of having my sanity questioned, I really would like to know what exactly film enthusiasts do with film that absolutely cannot be done with a dSLR and a digital darkroom, ASSUMING EQUIPMENT AND MATERIAL COST IS NOT A LIMITING FACTOR. And no, making bigger prints is not a valid answer either because with a 16.7 megapixel dSLR like the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II or a higher megapixel medium format digital back you can make, in my opinion, stunning prints of 30x50" or larger.
I would like to limit this discussion to pure TECHNICAL issues and exclude factors such as nostalgia, sentiment or any other subjective factors. So, give it to me straight, I will take it as a man, or better I will take it as a dSLR enthusiast (pixographer)!
