Hi all,
I just ran into this forum while trying to figure out where I am going with photos in the future.
My dilemma is this. I am a bit of a dinosuar and my canon friend calls me a nikon brat. I have many dollars invested in nikon gear 8008s,n90s,many lenses most AF as well as a whole Nikonos setup with lenses galore.
The recent notice by Nikon that they are discontinuing both the Nikonos and film cameras has totally made me reconsider my loyalty to the brand.
So what do I do from here on out?
I am grudgingly going delve into the digital world but can't decide if a D70s is the way to go? Ideally, if I could afford it I would rather have one of the 10 mp bodies .
So my questions to you all, Is the D70s the right choice or is it going to be replaced by another model soon? Or do I save more pennies and wait to buy a 10mp? (Keep in mind that I will have to keep this camera for a while) . BTw my prime interest is outdoors, wildlife, birds etc.
Any thoughts please?
If it were me, I'd get the D200 and go the 10 megapixel route. I have a D70 and never use it because of the limitations of the smaller file size images. In other words, the D70 is not a replacement for film.
Can't afford it? Put it on a credit card and pay it off. You'll be happier with the larger prints you'll be able to make.
Although I don't have a D70 (I use a Fuji S3), I have two friends who both use the D70. I've seen 20"x24" prints from it and they are magnificent. They equal the quality of medium format.

Thanks for the replies.
I was beginning to think I must have said something wrong!
I did come to the conclusion to buy the 200. and wow that is no easy feat. After pricing around the web and finding none in stock, I am on the wait list at a local photo shop (#88!). I don't anticipate seeing the new body till early April .
Get the D50 it will Please you!!!
I have the D50 and D200
