I've been selling my photographs as fine art for over 30 years at art shows around the country, and from my various web sites since 1998. Within the past two years, my web sales have reached a point that they are a larger portion of my income than my art show sales.
In the past three years, most of the major art shows have started requiring digital images for jurying and I've been hired by over a thousand artists to scan slides of their art and create accurate digital images so they can apply to the art shows.
I've been answering questions about digital imaging since I purchased the CoolPix 990 (my first digital camera) on the day it was released. I wrote (with Chris Maher) an article on selling photography at art shows for Shutterbug which spawned a user forum with over 3500 photographers that discuss image presentation and marketing.
I do question the usefulness of these specific writer forums, and if they are going to continue, I suggest that they be moved down to the bottom of the forum list. I think that the forums should be ordered by their usage and the more heavily used forums be moved to the top of the page.
