Photographer-Artist Duo Captures Post-Apocalyptic Worlds Using Miniatures in This Imaginative Video

The Short Film Showcase features exceptional videos selected by the editors at National Geographic, and this intriguing clip provides a vision of a post-apocalyptic world from miniature diorama artists and photographers Lori Nix and Kathleen Gerber (Nix + Gerber).

The two artists have collaborated for over 14 years and specialize in creating and then photographing miniature post-mankind worlds of crumbling buildings where nature is taking back the globe. Their attention to detail is so amazing that their creations are almost believable.

Watch the video below and see how Nix and Gerber contruct and then document these bizarrely realistic and imaginative settings.

In selecting projects for the Short Film Showcase, the editors at National Geographic look for work they feel exemplifies their organization’s belief in the power of science, and exploration, and the ability of storytelling to change the world.
