Vanguard’s New Photo Bags and Sporting Optics

Vanguard has introduced new photo messenger bags, slings, backpacks and sporting optics.

The Heralder Series is a fast-action messenger bag for on-the-move photographers, such as photojournalists and event photographers. With The Heralder’s Quick Top Access, photographers will never miss a beat of the action, or be scooped by the competition, because it eliminates fumbling with gear. With just one quick zip, users can access gear and get shooting in a split second!

One of The Heralder’s greatest features is a convenient tripod holder, perfect for today’s video-driven photojournalist. A tripod can be easily secured to The Heralder’s built-in tripod sling.

The Heralder’s detachable inner pouch lets you remove, and reload, gear in one easy step, giving you a seamless transition from comfortable camera bag to an everyday messenger bag, and back.

Other features include an extremely comfortable, padded anti-slip shoulder strap that distributes weight evenly on its users’ shoulders, a padded laptop compartment, numerous accessory pockets to store loose gear and compatibility with other VANGUARD accessories, such as padded lens protectors.

The Heralder is available in three sizes at street prices of $139-199.

Also new in bags is the addition of a new model in the award-winning Skyborne Series lineup. Skyborne 49 features full gear access from the front and is available for $239. Skyborne 49 has an ergonomic harness system with easy-adjust, air-filled shoulder straps to minimize tire. It securely holds a laptop in a well-padded compartment with anti-theft buckles. Skyborne comes complete with a bonus detached laptop sleeve with handle and shoulder carrying strap. A tripod can be attached to an adjustable strap and holder. Gear stays protected thanks to an air-infused bottom.

It holds an impressive amount of gear with front access that opens entirely. It delivers on the details, too, with generous space to hold gear along with other adventure essentials, and boasts numerous pockets for small accessories.

Other features include a detachable padded waist strap for increased security, rain cover, trolley for luggage handles, water bottle and cell phone holders and numerous pockets for lens caps and memory card cases.

This comes on the heels of Skyborne Series’ prestigious award win earlier this spring. Skyborne Series was named Best Photo Bag 2011 by the Technical Image Press Association for its ergonomic design and generous space.

Also new in bags is Adaptor Series, a versatile photo-video daypack. Whether you shoot right or left handed, Adaptor delivers with quick-access zippered gear openings on both left and right sides, so you can get to shooting in a matter of seconds. It’s a great protector, too, with a roomy, customizable interior and thick padding. Easily convert from backpack style to a sling bag by repositioning one of the shoulder straps and neatly stowing the other in its pocket. There is a zippered and buckled top compartment for additional gear or other supplies. Additional features include a tripod holder and zippered pockets for small accessories and lens caps.

Adaptor Series is available in three daypack styles and Adaptor 48, a slightly-differently designed backpack model. Adaptor 48 has full-opening gear access from the back. Side pockets hold small accessories. Adaptor 46 includes a padded laptop holder.

Adaptor is available at street prices of $89-129.

Nivelo Series bag – inspired by and designed for micro four thirds and mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras – is the perfect solution for toting your camera without the bulk always associated with camera bags. Nivelo’s generous in space to snugly protect your mirrorless, interchangeable lens camera (or other compact digital camera), lens and accessories. The interior is packed with padding and boasts tall sides to keep your gear safe and secure while you’re on the go. It also has rubber bottom feet that provide shock absorption. Weather-resistant fabric keeps moisture from your camera, lens or other accessories. It’s available for $39-49.

VANGUARD has also unveiled its most advanced spotting scope yet, which delivers bright, clear, high-contrast images even in low-light conditions – perfect for outdoor photographers, birders and general nature enthusiasts.

Endeavor Series spotting scope boasts an advanced optical system with extremely high-resolution, fully multi-coated lenses and a BaK4 prism. It’s 100-percent waterproof and fogproof to perform in challenging weather conditions.

Endeavor’s durable-yet-lightweight, magnesium construction features rubber armor for shock resistance and a sunshield, so it can be used in any kind of setting. A dual focus wheel system enables fast and fine-tuning focus adjustment.

Users can capture breathtaking, close-up images by using Endeavor’s easy-to-attach digital camera adaptor (sold separately) for digiscoping. Endeavor comes complete with a rain coat and soft carrying bag. It’s available in four models – two with a straight eyepiece and two with an angled eyepiece, for street prices between $499-599.

Also new in optics is Orros Series compact binoculars – perfect for those who need advanced optical performance packed in a lightweight, compact design, so you can carry in a pocket and use them for hours without tire.

With BaK4 prisms and multi-coated lenses, Orros boasts impressive light transmission and always delivers crisp, clear images. O-ringed sealed and nitrogen-charged, Orros Series is 100-percent waterproof and fogproof to take on the outdoors.

Beyond the impressive optical performance, Orros is incredibly compact and lightweight and offers a unique offset, large focus wheel for more comfortable adjustment. It also offers no-slip rubber armor. It’s available in two models at a street price of $79.
