Look into using white umbrellas to either shoot through or bounce the lignt into. For strobes, check out Alien Bees or White Lightning. For hot lights, you can use daylight florescent bulbs or tungston lights. Make sure to set your white balance to match the light source. Also, if you can afford it, Pick up a couple of SB-800s to connect wirelessly to the D200. Check out the threads I've contributed to on the Nikon Digital forum.

If you're using a light tent you shouldn't need bounce or shoot through umbrellas. That's the whole purpose of a light tent. The fabric of the tent acts as a diffuser for the light.
When you say you'll be shooting still life, can we assume that the subjects are relatively small? I mean, most light tents aren't that big. If my assumption is correct then you don't need huge studio lights. Simple desk lamps or small clamp lights will do the trick. You can use daylight balanced fluorescents or daylight balanced incandescents (the ones with the slightly blue coating) if you want which are closer to 5000k than regular incandescent or fluorescent bulbs.
If you're using a larger light tent for product or catalogue photography of larger items like chairs or such then larger lights may be necessary.
If the objects are small enough, and not highly reflective like silver, you can use your standard flash with an off camera cord, a micro Apollo and a white card as a reflector.
Unless you are planning to do a lot of this kind of work, why spend the cash?
I have just joined this forum and was browsing and saw this post. Maybe this thread related to the photography of Custom Knives and my system for doing so will be of some assistance. They are rather "still".

the concepts here are simialr to what you may wish to do and the tent shown is able to be setup with a continuous background of a few different colors when photographing other still life items which don't have the reflective surfaces of knives which of course, precludes the use of color on the back wall of the tent.

We can't access your post on another forum without signing up for the forum.
But I may have similar information on my web site where I've just finished a review of the third lighting product that uses daylight florescent bulbs:

I wish UBBcode was enabled on all these forums....
