TELEPHOTO LEN TROUBLE

I bought a Tokina telephoto lens (3X High Definition) and couldn't get my camera, even after reading the manual guide book, to "avoid the tunnel effect". Does anyone know how I can do that.

NOTE: I've turned on the Converter on to TC-DC58B in my camera's menu option already.

CAMERA MODEL: Canon Powershot S3 IS.

Sounds like the accessory lens vignettes with the camera. That means the barrel of the lens isn't wide enough to prevent unobstructed viewing. The accessory telephoto lens that Canon sells is only 1.5 magnification factor so I wouldn't recommend any other lenses without either trying them first or reading on a forum whether anyone has successful experience with them.
