Hi everyone. This is my first post here. I've looked around the website several times, but hope to have time in the future to really explore it.
I'm looking for a really good photography book to teach me more than the basics. Everything I've been able to find around here are just basic digital photography books. I am looking for something that is more than that, will teach me the finer points of photography in either medium. I have an old Pentax SLR and as well as a Fuji E900 regular digital and I really want to learn how to use all the features properly. fstops and telephoto lenses and aperatures and white balances are really confusing me and these regular books just aren't helping!
I know there's a zillion books out there on the subject but need some help/advice on narrowing it down to one or two that will really teach me photography and help me grow in this hobby.
I know this site has some great resources, but as much as I like the internet, I still love books and they are also a lot easier to take out in the middle of nowhere and experiment with!
Failing that (or in addition to it) are there any well respected online or correspondence photography courses in Canada or the states that will do the do same? I don't mind paying money if it's a good, respected course, but you never know on the internet! I have found a couple of great free classes which I have joined but were mainly helpful for the basic basic digital things and composition (which were great, of course, but I'd like to go further!)
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
