Do I need to protect my canon 20D from my novatron strobes? If so- how do I do it? I want to start using my digital camera with my strobes for a portrait application but do not want to harm my digital camera. <!--color-->

If your camera has a PC strobe fitting for an off camera strobe, you have half of the tools necessary to fire your Novatron remotely via electric eye. For the second part get a Novatron Slave Eye (about $30..see their website or call them in Dallas) Attach it to the Transformer via the synch cord inlet. Face the off camera strobe to the rear away from the subject so as to not introduce extra light. Firing the camera to make the exposure, fires the off camera strobe, which triggers the Novatron strobes, and saves your camera circuitry in the process. Good Luck.
