Street Photography: Light Boxes Advertisements.

Greetings all,

Looking for suggestions on how to approach shooting a light box advertisement( the ones that stand on the ground and alternate between ads)

location: Outdoors/City
Time of day: (various) In the afternoon, and later in the evening when its darker.
what: day pictures to include a shadow of me in the photo to represent isolation from a busy city.
Night photos:Light box to be still, and the background to be blurred. And other night photos very blurred and abstract. If i can somehow get a shadow into the night ones that would be great.

I have a canon eos 3000N , and was thinking of borrowing a DSLR & a tripod.

If your camera has an auto exposure bracketing mode, it will help nail the correct exposure. Otherwise expose for the highlights on the sign. Shadow of you can be created by using an off camera flash behind you. Balance the amount of flash and camera exposure with the light hitting the sign.
