I have an SRT 101 I bought in 1967 and I've never had anything but the 58mm lens it came with. It seems to be sound and I'm thinking about getting a zoom lens.
Perhaps a 35-135mm or something with more magnification. I would appreciate your comments about the relative quality of the Minolta Rokkor lenses and any of the others available for my camera. Versatility, and price will of course need to be considerations.

If you like the camera KEH has some lens. If you want to upgrade to a newer camera they have pretty good deals on 35mm now. I owned a Minolta X370 which took the MD lens. They are a solid camera with a good meter and lens are cheap. You might check them out.
Hello, all!
I'm a newbie to this site as well as photography. I have been gifted a Minolta SRT101, possibly circa 1971--it's younger than me!! It arrived an my doorstep [literally!] with a standard {55 mm}w/ a UV-haze filter already attached; 35 mm; and 200mm lenses
And I had it checked out--it's in prime condition!! I'm very close to finishing up a film roll, I'm so looking forward to seeing how I did, so far.
Also, I just purchased "The New Joy of Photography" yesterdayplus have borrowed from the public library a number of books on photog.
Take care, all!
The SRT series of Minolta Cameras were outstanding, reliable, all mechanical SLR cameras as were the Rokkor lenses. You need to look for lenses that are MC or MD lenses. these lenses are meter coupled with is important for your needle matching meter coupling to work properly. I highly recomend that you visit http://rokkorfiles.com/ and read up on the history of Rokkor lenses and read the lens reviews. I think you'll find everything you need to know about how to select the correct zoom lense.
