And about bloody time, too - although, judging by the SPAM content described in the article, I'm not sure these guys were resposible for most of the crap that's been hitting the forum lately. It's still good news, though.

I am afraid you are correct. Our spooks are still with us.
As you all know this is an ongoing problem but we have gotten quite aggressive with this. I have, for example, banned all email from gmail and russian addresses, where most of this garbage has come from.
Blanket elimination of gmail addresses is not in itself a solution because too many legitimate people use gmail. I use a gmail address for sending e-mail when I'm traveling.
Is there any way to moderate first posts and then remove members based on that post? That would totally eliminate spam.
