Soligor was the private label for AIC (Allied Impex Corp) Photographic here in the US until they went Ch 11 in about
1980-81. Their lenses were mainly manufactured by either Tokina or Kiron (Kino Precision) in Japan. In about '78 or '79 or so, they made the fatal mistake of actually buying a 51 % stake in Miranda. The employees of Miranda
promptly went on strike, refusing to work for a US controlled company. As a result, AIC eventually went into the Japanese version of CH11 and subsequently here in the US.

This was really sad for Miranda because under the US direction and design, their final camera was actually very good--As I recall, it was labeled the DX3 and had a winder plus some reformulated lenses which were excellent.
The West Coast rep was a friend of mine and I bought his demo with a 50 F1.4 (which was superb) for one of my daughters.

Back to the lens in question, if has a shiney finish it was most likely made by Kiron and if a matte finish, Tokina. Except for the Miranda debacle, AIC subbed out all their products to Japanese conpanies.
