Shutterbug Photo of the Day: “Solar Halo” by Ken Strange

Our Shutterbug Photo of the Day is a dramatic shot of a rare solar halo by Ken Strange.

“While on a walk we saw this (not an everyday event) sunbow—solar halo. I shot the sun at f/22 for the star effect, the halo around the sun gave it the added dimension along with the bright white clouds and the back lite trees making a strong formula to be present as a black and white,” writes Strange.

This image was captured with a Sony ILCE-6000, 16-50mm, f/3.5-5.6, f/22, 1/400,+0.7 and ISO 640.
