I use a Panasonic DMC-FZ20, Lumix camera. When trying to use it in "S" mode (shuttermode) everytime I adjust the shutter speed to 1/2000 or 1/1600 I can see the image I am about to take a picture of, but when I push the trigger and take it, it takes a picture of total darkness! What am I doing wrong?
You're probably out of the range of the combination f-stop, shutter speed and ISO.
What exactly are the settings the camera is trying to use for the aperture and what is the ISO set at?
I've tried it with the ISO set to 200 and 400. The exposure is at -2. Not sure about thr aperature. Where would I find that?
Is this the aperature setting: F5.6 1/1600?
Does it work properly on Program mode? If so, use the f-stop and shutter speed that the Program mode uses and adjust manually or set on Shutter Priority.
F5.6 is the aperture.

In manual mode I can adjust the aperature and the shutter speed (1/6000). When I adjust it down, from F5.6 to F2.8 it gradually gets lighter and easier to see. What are normal settings for aperature and shutter speed?
