Hey Guys, Just wanted to get some opinions. I currently own a Canon Rebel XT 8 mp. I am an amatuer/enthusiast photographer. I take a lot of family pictures and have shot one wedding and am supposed to do another wedding in the spring. I was thinking about upgrading to the Canon 40D. Is the difference in cameras worth the extra investment?
Should I upgrade my camera?

I doubt that buying the now obsolete 40D would be that much of an advantage, but the new 50D with over twice the resolution of the camera you have definitely would provide superior results you would notice.

I agree with David. Upgrading from old technology to old technology is more of a side wards upgrade. I always recommend looking at the latest cameras when thinking of upgrading.

I upgraded from the xt to the 50D back in may this year. What a huge difference it made. I shot my brothers wedding as a bystander and I think my pictures came out better than the "pro" who took them did. www.smgphotography.biz I don't have any training and do it for fun. Check it out
