I'm trying something new this weekend at the art show I'm at. I had seven of my images printed 30x40 with a 9600 on canvas and then gallery wrapped so they can hang using stretchers and wouldn't reaquire expensive framing. I had a two inch black border printed on the canvas so it wraps around the sides.
I was thinking about that, let me know how it goes

You responded to a post that was 15 months old. I've moved onto a different body of work since then.
I didn't realize that, Larry. So how did it go, or did you just give up on that?
Luca
I cut the number of shows I do down to about five or six a year. I sold a few 30x40 canvases, but don't do enough shows to give them proper exposure to the public. Lots of photographers are now doing that at art shows and end up competing with painters because the canvas gives the photograph a painterly look.
Larry I thought about making one just to see how it looks but since I do BW I do not know how well that would work. Great idea. Monte.
Larry, I'm kind of intrigued by the idea, too. When you say it put you in competition with painters, did you mean that it was a positive or negative experience?
Take it any way you want. 30v40 photographs with a painterly look sell for a lot less than 30x40 original paintings.
