Samsung Monitor Calibration

Thanks to help in this forum and other research, I purchased a Samsung 214T. Now I need some help in setting it up for proper calibration. The monitor is connected via DVI to a NVIDIA 6600 graphics card. I use a Monaco Optix and associated hardware. I target D65 with a gamma of 2.2

My specific questions relate to setting several monitor options available through the OSD or the "Magic Tune" utility. They are:

1) Color Tone. Is "normal" equal to D65?
2) Magic Color (Full, Intelligent, Off). This seems to selectively adjust saturation. Should I leave it on or turn it off?
3) Gamma (slider ranging from -0.2 to +0.6 that impacts highlights and shadows.)
4) 6-color (RGBCYM sliders for hue and saturation)

It has been awhile since I tested the Samsung Syncmaster and there has been a lot of water under the bridge since, so I don't recall exactly how the controls function. However, I do recall that you can set the color temperature to presets including D65/6500K, and you can also set the gamma to 2.2. Please recheck the instructions provided with the display and I believe how to access and make those settings should be included. Magicolor If I recall should not be on. Enhancement features in displays are intended to provide greater contrast and color brilliance for content like web graphics so they can be seen more distinctly on-screen in a brightly lit room, and distort the effective reproduction of photographic image values..

I have not used Monaco software for some years but I will assume you should be able to set the white and black point targets either before calibration or interactively as part of the calibration and profiling process. The black point setting should be 0,5 to 0.60 CD/mr and is set by adjusting the brightness control of the display. The white point target should be 115.0 to 120.0 CD/m2 and it is set using the displays contrast adjustment.
