Some information regarding sRGB or RGB98 for web galleries would be appreciated. While I print everything in RGB98, I have been told that sRGB is better for posting on websites or web galleries. I tried changing to sRGB after my processing is complete for the photos I wanted to post.
What I noticed was that when I used Photoshop CS and changed from RGB to sRGB in the mode menu, my on screen photos appeared to desaturated or become less vibrant when I clicked ok going to sRGB. I thought the colors were supposed to be better on screen with sRGB. I had to bump up curves to bring back out better color everytime I changed from RGB to sRGB.
Am I missing something in the process? I know each monitor viewing web photos will be different, espcecially not calibrated ones, but to my calibrated monitor I saw a distinct loss of saturation or color pop in sRGB.
Advice or help to understand this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all, and Happy Thanksgiving
Tim
