I recently purchased a Canon 20D and have been shooting some RAW files. If I want to print 11x16 inch prints on an Epson 1280 printer, what is the best way to resize images? Canon's Digtal Photo Pro allows one to resize the file when converting from RAW to TIFF or JPEG. Another option is to convert the file from RAW to TIFF or JPEG without resizing and then resizing by resampling in Photoshop (I'm using CS). Is one approach better than the other? The other question is what should I resize the files to? I'm used to scanning 35mm negs at 4000 dpi and always aimed for 300 pixels per inch which wasn't a problem. With the 8 MP 20D files, I will need to upsize the files. Is it better to upsize all the way to 300 ppi or is it better to do less severe upsizing and use something like 256 ppi? Thanks for any suggestions.
