Red Wing Quick Stand

Years ago a company by the name of Red Wing was producing a light stand called a Quick Stand. The legs would fold when you picked the stand off the floor. I have tried to locate a place that sells the stands but have had no luck. Anyone have information on this product?

Steve Bedell reviewed it for Shutterbug in the March 1999 issue. At the time, they were available through BKA Photo in Vernon Hills, IL. I visited http://www.BKAPhoto.com/ but the site had some problems when I was there. If they haven't been fixed yet, here's the phone number: 847.821.0450

I spoke to the sales and purchasing dept. today and they do not carry the product. Do you think this product would sell today if it was available???

It seems odd that the Quick Stands wouldn't be available, since it's apparent that they're being given away with the purchace of any of the line of Bowens Esprit Monolights. A Google search of "Bowens" "Quick Stand" brings up a number of European dealers for the Red Wing Quick Stand; don't know if you wish to go to those lengths though.

As to whether it would sell today, I feel certain that it would sell well within a narrow market, but I also suspect that the market's too small to turn a profit or they would be more widely available.
