Rebel XTi Long Shutter Speeds

Is it possible to set the shutter speed of the Rebel XTi beyond 30 seconds? and if so how? I want to start messing around with some night shots using 100 ISO...

Thirty seconds is the maximum for automatic shutter speed. If you need longer exposure, go to manual mode, set the shutter speed to "Bulb", and hold down the shutter release button for whatever time you need. Two caveats here: First, use a cable (remote) release; second, make sure your battery is fully charged...
