Both RawShooter and LightRoom are different proprietary applications with their own file formats for internal use. So it is doubtful there would be a direct means to transfer internal RawShooter files to lightroom. If RawShooter supports .DNG that might be one way to get the file contents from RS to LightRoom. Otherwise I think you would have to go back to the archived Raw digital camera files to get them into LightRoom.

I thought that Adobe bought the total design rights to RS from pixmantic and have incorporated this software into LR, with improvements and tweaks. Have they not made it easy for RS users to transfer to LR?

To clarify, does this mean i can transfer the RAW files from one to the other. For example a click and drag into LR. I am not such a computer genius so any step by step for dummies would be great.

If in fact Adobe did purchase Pixmantec I don't think you can assume they would incorporate RawShooter features directly into LightRoom. More likely if a large company like Adobe buys a small rival it is to acquire their patents for features Adobe would like to put into LightRoom, but maybe and likely not using Pixmantec's code, but their own. So there would then not be any compatibility between the two applications. Another reason for such purchases is to just eliminate competition and acquire RawShooter users as customers.

If you have processed Raw files in Pixmantec the Pixmatec internal files are probably not transferable directly to LightRoom. However if you have archives of the Raw files you can of course import them into LightRoom. And if you have used RawShooter to process files and export them in TIFF or PSD format, those files should be accesible to LightRoom of course.

Adobe bought the RawShooter engine from Pixmantic. As for the whole company I don't know. They will be offering a conversion tool for settings sometime soon. There is a brief mention of what preliminary steps need to be taken with your files beforehand. I've never used RS but I've been using LR since the first Beta and I can't do without it anymore and as far as speed I actually think it's pretty fast with a good speed increase since Beta 4 and Version 1.
