David: Only considering color printing (no B&W), which is the better printer for advanced amateur photo work, the R1800 or 2400?
Terry,
The R2400 does better with color than the R1800, but the difference is not great, and I think most would not notice but subtle difference in the prints produced. The R-1800 will provide a considerably better photographic print reproduction than even a 2200, and has both significant color image advantages as well as much better print longevity over any of the earlier photo printers like the 1280.
So, considering the R2400 is almost twice the cost, for photographers like yourself only printing color photographs, save some money and buy the R1800.
David, my understanding is that the 2400 is better a b&w, is that correct?
Ronk,
It is really the first color inkjet photo printer using archival pigment inks to be specifically configured to produce high quality B&W. Now I can put my dedicated 2000P B&W printer in retirement.
