Hi, I have a Nikon D50 camera. When I bought it, I got the 55-200 lens which I like very much. But, I take a lot of bird pictures and was wondering if the Nikon 70-300 would help me to zoom in better and get more detail. As you can tell, I am an amateur and don't know much.

When it comes to any nature photography the closer you can get without beign close the better...So yes 300 will get you better shots but be carefull when you go any higher.. A good 500 mm lense is what you need but watch the max aperture on the lense, most big lenses need tons of light unless you are willing to pay a ton..
