what is a good reasonable priced photo printer for 8x10 pictures?
Reasonable to me might be 300.00$, what is reasonable to you? What do you want most, cheap to buy? Cheap to use? Best pic quality? Prints that dont fade in 5 years?
I use the Epson R800 and love it, tho I dont think it is considered cheap.

George,
A quite inexpensive printer that will produce very decent photo prints is the Epson C-86. It is a pigment ink printer so print life expectancy is generally better than what dye-ink printers offer. But maybe another aspect of the fact the Epson C-86 is a pigment ink printer is its ink's superior performance with fiber-based papers even uncoated plain papers made by 3rd party suppliers. Unlike dye, pigment ink is not as influenced in terms of image quality and color balance by the paper it is printed on. So generally one can expect better results using 3rd party papers for doing your own greeting cards, and other similar ways one might want to reproduce photographs on paper other than glossy, coated, photo paper. This relates to the problems described in the "Special Moments" paper thread currently running.
I personably like Canon. I have a Canon ip6000d and it is great. Easy to use and easy on ink too. But there are a lot of great printers out there.
