I have a Polaris flash / ambient meter
You set the shutter speed that you're shooting with and the meter gives you the appropriate f stop when you meter the light.
Is this the way most meters work?
Do meters with larger domes have better accuracy?

You also need to set the ISO.
Yes, but the meter needs to be used in the exact lighting conditions you're going to shoot in, positioned where the subject is and pointed towards the camera.

I know about setting the ISO I just forgot to include it in the thread. :)
But are you saying Yes most meters work like this or Yes meters with larger domes have an advantage?

Compare it to the reading you get from your camera's built in meter and see if it's accurate.
