Before PE 3.0 came along, I really didn't use RAW that much. The conversion software provided with the camera (Canon EOS-10D) really didn't work that good, and I didn't want to fork over big $$$ for one of the pro converters.
However, I have found that with PE3.0, processing RAW is much more pleasant. I can keep the original image available (preserving the EXIF data), and the workflow is simplified thanks to the fact I don't have the extra software to deal with.
What are others' feelings on the subject. Is using an external program (such as Phase One Capture One DSLR) still a better solution, or does the new support in the Photoshop/PE products do the trick for you?
