I'd like to learn more about photography, but there are no schools in my area for photography. Does anybody know if the New York Institute of Photography (NYIP) is any good and worth the money. Will I learn anything from it.
The answers to your questions are yes, yes, and yes
NYIP is an excellent way to learn the basics of photography, and the techniques used in various aspects of the art (portraiture, wedding, architecture, etc.) It's money well spent. I still use some of the course material for reference from time to time. Go for it!
MEGA, MEGA Dittoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for replying. I would eventually do portraits and perhaps local glamour. i know that national magazine glamour is hard to get into. Will NYIP help me with the skills for this type of work.
One section of the course is/was devoted to it; why not address specific content questions to them?
These folks have been very helpful when I emailed or called, even years after I took the course.
