I am currently using Adobe Photoshop 5.0 right now. Is this the best form of software to use or do they have a better version that will let you preview raw images that will let you see them before you have to edit them?
It is massively time consuming to open every file just to preview it. If anyone has any suggestions to a better type or newer version to use it would be appreciated. I thought about updating to the new CS2. But leery about spending time and money if not the best choice.
Any suggestions would be greatley appreciated
Thanks
Adobe Photoshop has been greatly improved since version 5.0, particularly with the addition of color management to assure color matching between screen, input and print output, as well as the addition of numerous useful features.
However of you are not working at a professional level of digital photography you would probably be better served with the latest version (5.0) of Adobe Photoshop Elements which is easier to use and much less expensive than the full version of Photoshop, which is due out shortly as Photoshop CS3 (version 10.0)
If you have a legitimate serial number, there might be an upgrade path to a more current version (CS2) with CS3 announced for the end pf March. I'd call Adobe customer service and ask. Upgrades are approximately $159 where Elements is around $99. For the difference, full Photoshop is a much better deal.
Thanks I have only been deeling with this software for a short time. I guess it is best if I master this befor I attempt a better version or more advanced version.
Thanks for all your information on this subject.
Shawn
Actually if you ever intend on upgrading, it's always smarter to learn a current version than to spend time learing an older outdated version.
Hey Shawn,
If your new to Photoshop ,your best investment may be the new Elements .It can do some pretty cool things and will help you with the learning curve to more advanced Photoshop
programs before you spend the money to upgrade.
Good Luck
