I am a novice when it comes to photography but do have a sincere passion for both nature and candid portraits.
As a mom of two, who lives in Hawaii, I have more than my share of epic opportunities for beautiful shots.
I love taking pictures and want to start learning more and increasing my knowledge and in turn the quality of the pictures I do take...I often feel limited and want more range.
I have a Finepix S7000 8 mp and want to know if it is worth buying a extra lens for it. In order to get a lens for this camera I need to attach a lens adapter...I can not help but think that there are some serious limitations associated with doing that.
Would I be better off starting fresh with a different camera body that has more room for expansion in the future?
Any advice on where to start, other than here, books and or web sites, would be appreciated.
Mahalo.

Personally, I think that if you're planning on getting more into photography and you want to get the most out of it, you'll want to get an SLR. The camera you have now will present you with more and more limitations the more you learn about photography.
I think a good DSLR will give you so much more and will end up being worth what you pay for it.

Yes, get a DSLR. What photography are you the most interested in? And, what can be your budget for an SLR? They start st around 500 with a lens, but I'd be more open to around 600 and up to 1000.
