Hi I am looking for an online developer that uses higher quality papers like Kodak Endura and is in Canada. I don't want to deal with border fees etc. Also if anyone can recommend any other paper that looks better than what you'd get at say Wal-Mart or Black's and is available for prints online, please let me know. I have my own business and am looking for something with higher quality but won't cost me a fortune or my customers. Thanks ahead!
Are you complaining about the paper or print quality? Wal-Mart uses Fuji Crystal Archive paper in their processing equipment, as does Costco. Fuji Crystal Archive paper is also what the custom labs use, unless they are so locked into Kodak that they use Endura. But I'd go with Fuji paper because Kodak misleads you with it's archival rating.
As for print quality, it's up to you to prepare the file so it prints properly. You can also go online and get profiles (or have them profiled) for all the Costco and Wal-Mart printers, though I think that Costco has their machines profiled by Dry Creek Photo twice a year.
MPix uses Endura and ships to Canada.
Check the site for the postage.
I'm not complaining about anything. I am just looking for something that looks more professional. Maybe it's not the paper I'm looking for then, but the finish?? I am using my kids' school photos as an example.
Fuji Crystal Archive paper is available in glossy or luster. Depending on where you get the prints made, they give you that option, or maybe you have to know it's available to ask for it. I get all my prints done on luster because it is easier to handle and doesn't show finger prints as much.
