I have been testing the new D70s and ran into a problem. Conincidentally, one of my students at www.betterphoto.com had the same problem with a Nikon D70: accidentally setting exposure compensation. (I had forgotten about this since I tested the D70, long ago.)
The solution: Go into the Custom Functions menu. Find the one that says Exposure Compensation On. Set it to off.
This will prevent the camera from setting compensation every time you rotate the command dials.
You will still be able to do so, but only when you press the +/- button.
