I am finally ready to upgrade from my D50, and I have been looking at used d200 and d80. Both are within my price range,(used) which would you recommend?
I shoot mostly landscapes, architecture etc. the lack of pin-sharp focus was my biggest problem with the D50. I have read up on both cameras but still can't make a decision. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Well as an owner of the Nikon D80 all I can say is...
I love this camera I have many of the accessories, ML-L3 remote, MB-D80 Multi Battery Pack (a must for me),4 lens hoods, SB-400 flash and 3 lenses. (3 yrs now)
1). AF-S DX Zoom NIKKOR 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED
2). AF-S VR Zoom NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED
3). AF DX 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Tokina
I bought the battery pack along with the Nikon D80 kit and for most of the first year I shot all manual got almost 3,000 shots before recharging the batteries.
I think you'll find accessories and some other camera gear less expensive for the D80 also.
I use my ML-L3 remote alot with and without tripod distance shooting nature/wildlife (no shake) sutter release great.
If I can answer any questions feel free to ask away.
Regards,
Gary
