I imagine you'll have noticed that Oly's new DSLR is the first to have live LCD preview as well as optical view, due to using two sensors. Googling it will bring up numerous stories, although I don't think it's on the Olympusamerica site yet.
It isn't a pro model but a serious amateur model. They cut back from 8.0 to 7.5 MP in the imaging sensor because they claim lower noise with it. Due out in March for about $1K for the body.
I'd noticed in the leadup rumors that Minolta years back had a dual sensor camera but lacked the complementary technologies, such as digital-specific lenses and sensor cleaning mechnisms that were apparently needed. Because Olympus has these, it was thought that they might go the multi-sensor route. I had expected three sensors, one per channel, which is a way they could go in the future with a pro model.
Although I'll stick with my E-300 and Nikon FE kit with film scanner for now - I'm an amateur (obviously I guess) - I'm glad for Olympus as this will get a lot of exposure.
