Hi everyone I am new to Photography and I bought a cannon EOS K2. I would like to by a telephoto lens, I think thats what I need. I want to take nature photos from a distance. what should I look for? Your help is appriciated
Although I am a digital shooter I think I can offer some advice for you. If you are going to be shooting wildlife make sure you get a lens with "IS" It is the only way to go. And a tripod is your friend. I would say a zoom range from 200-300mm would be good enough for most wildlife.
Check out a copy of Kodak's "Joy of Photography" at the library. it has a section in it that has examples of the coverage angles of the various lenses.
The focal length that you will need will vary depending upon your distance to the subject, the subject size and what you wish to include as far as the subject's environment is concerned.
i would suggest telephoto..i shoot landscapes and nature too and im buying a new telephoto next month so go with a telephoto...you'll thank me lol
