I am looking for advice in becoming a better user of my new camera. I have a EF 75-300mm and EFS 18-55mm lens. I am particularly looking for help with night pics (moon, stars, silouettes...) I am a big lover of nature too. So any help would be much appreciated.
A good first step is Kodak's "Joy of Photography". avaialble at most public libraries.
Check out www.nyip.com for tips.
The first accessory you should purchase is a sturdy tripod. Every picture you take using it will come out better than if you didn't use it. You should experiment with long shutter speeds and higher ISO settings to see which will work better for night shots. Also, you need to understand the the moon is light by ths sun so the exposure is approximately what a subject would be in daytime sunlight. That should be a starting point for manual exposure bracketing.
I take photos at horse shows and other sports events, including weddings.
I just bought this camera.
Are you saying it's not the one I should have got?
