new canon dig 1.6 and cropping factor

I would like to get a canon dig. Obviously the better crop factor ones are very expensive. Mark, 5D etc. Does anyone have info if cannon will be coming out with a more reasonably priced digital with a lower crop factor like the ones I mentioned. If I'm going to spend that type of money I want it to be like the film 35 SLRs.

the crop factor is a function of the sensor size. You can learn more about sensors in R. Martin's article at www.nyip.com
